Wow, this is unlike anything I've heard before! It sounds like electronic music but composed with non-electronic instruments. Although I can tell most of it is synthesized, it sounds very natural and open. It's a bit indescribable really. It sounds non-electronic yet at the same time it gives the same kind of feeling. I really wish you would have panned out the instruments more (they all seem to crowd the center), but it sounds awesome anyways! I'd like to know what you used for the bell-ish instrument starting at 0:52 and the one used at 2:35 (I believe it emulates a harpsichord). :D

ChronoNomad responds:

Thanks for the great review! With my previous DAW, adding stereo effects was an enormously time-consuming and frustrating chore, so most of my longer pieces (including this one) were simply left in their original monaural format. I'm not really one for going back and tweaking old projects, but I do plan on one day remaking Forever Fantasy in FL Studio, so look forward to it! :D

Believe it or not, that bell-like instrument you hear around :52 is supposed to be piano. The quality of instrument samples is one of many reasons that I'm so happy to have moved on to FL, which is much more mainstream. As for the harpsichord--you nailed it! That is indeed what you are hearing between 2:35 and 3:08. Thanks again for leaving a review, and I'm glad that you enjoy the music! I hope that you'll keep checking out my submissions. ^_^

Greetings DJ Theof! I don't know if you've seen me around but I recognized your name from the auditions list of the audio death match and I remembered that I subscribed to you on YouTube. I didn't know you were on Newgrounds also. Very nice track you've made, I like your use of filters and subtractive synthesis. Sounds great! Good luck to you in the competition. I've entered it too by the way. ;D

TastyTeo responds:

Hey thanks good luck to you too!

Ah I see you did the JAP version. I was expecting the US verison lol. Nicely done! ;)

AfterBurner, yet another great SEGA game like Space Harrier. And another awesome mix by you! Hehe. Unbelievably I survived through AfterBurner III for SEGA CD. I'm not particlarly fond of the game itself (I think the Arcade/SEGA 32X AfterBurner was better) but the music from it is pretty epic.

The S.S.T. Band arrangement features the best synth solo of all time...

I've noticed that people really must love using Pianos to remix this song lol. The other one I heard was also with a Piano. I like your orchestral twist on your remix! I never heard a version like this before, really great job! :) Maybe I can use this for my SEGA Network News serial sometime, with your permission of course.

DigitalDuck responds:

I can do one better than that - I'm currently reworking this one to make it sound less artificial, and that would be the one to use...

Oooh, I see you made 2 versions. I left a review on your other version. Honestly I like this one much better! :D

DrMackFoxx responds:

Now this is interesting to me how some people prefer my slightly slower and less complex version of this song. Glad to see it's quite enjoyable. :) Thank you very much for another excellent review!

Wow! That Piano sounds great! It goes with the synthesizers in the background. It could really use more bass though. And the Piano should blend more with the rest as it is a bit loud and pushes the dynamic range compression a bit. But I like this nevertheless! :) Just btw, I think this is the most memorable song that ever came from SEGA, I think this is the song I have made the most remixes on hehe.

DrMackFoxx responds:

Ah! I would have to agree that the bass is a touch weak. As for the lead, I really wanted it to stand out. There is so much going on in this track and I'm quite surprised I was able to pull this off. Thank you very, very much for the thorough and honest review! I really appreciate it. ^_^

P.S.- I quite enjoyed your orchestral remake of this track. Excellent work!
